Microsoft Edge is the preferred browser! and preinstalled on all workstations because it offers better integration with Microsoft services, enhanced security, improved performance, and compatibility with legacy applications via Internet Explorer mode. It also receives regular updates for ongoing support.
Google Chrome will eventually be deprecated. While it’s still available on some machines, it’s not ideal due to higher resource usage, less integration with enterprise tools, and limited security updates in comparison to Edge. We encourage users to transition to Edge to ensure better performance and long-term support.
Microsoft Edge
- Open the Edge browser.
- Click the three dots (…) next to the profile icon, click Help and feedback, and then click About Microsoft Edge.
- Clicking the About Microsoft Edge option opens the About page. Additionally, the Edge will automatically start looking for updates. If available, the latest updates will be automatically installed.
And if no updates are available, you will see a “Microsoft Edge is up to date” message.
The best part is that Edge does not take much time to download and install updates. If your computer is connected to a decent internet connection, downloading updates should not take more than a few seconds. Once downloaded, it takes another few seconds to install them. - That’s it! You have successfully updated Edge to the latest version.
! Once installed, you will be asked to restart the Edge browser to finish installing updates
Google Chrome

- Select Help
About Google Chrome.

The browser saves your opened tabs and windows and reopens them automatically when it restarts.
